Write. Travel. Shoot the breeze. Rinse and repeat. Eight simple words to live by, boiled down from more than fifteen years of experience as a travel writer/photographer for various national and international newspapers and magazines. You’d be right to notice the absence of other travel-related buzzwords like twenty-hour layover, overhead cabin movies, staycation, no Wi-Fi and two-drink maximum. Oh, and Lower Saxony, the land where fun goes to die.
When I am not travelling, I work as a consultant for Memphis & Mississippi, translate hotel brochures for Booking.com and write purring print and web copy for several tourism and media organisations, as well as festivals like Down The Rabbit Hole and A Campingflight to Lowlands Paradise, the Dutch’ resounding answer to Glastonbury.
Among my favourite places in the world are Norway, Switzerland, Italy, Mauritius, Iceland, Budapest and Deep South, USA. During my travels I have rounded up buffalo, cleaned up after Katrina, met with the late great Isaac Hayes and and had an iguana for lunch. Tastes like superbony chicken.
